Inspired from the real antique Dong Son drums, Mobiado wanted to mimic the unique look and feel of the handmade non-sharp engraving. To do this Mobiado developed a special engraving technique to make the physical 3D Dong Son image become a reality directly onto the surface of the phone. Mobiado is excited to announce the second phone to use Dong Son imagery and its first 3D engraved phone; the PRO3 GCB Dong Son Antique.
Engraved Mobile Art: A Novel Interpretation of a Cultural Masterpiece
The brass frame of the PRO3 GCB - Dong Son is CNC machined, and precision 3D engraved with a Dong Son drum decorative image; at the center is a star encircled by concentric panels of human and animal scenes interspersed with bands of geometric motifs. The frame is then glass-bead blasted and plated with 24 karat gold to produce the final Engineering Artwork. Large sapphire crystal plates are precision inset into the gold body and are combined with gold painted sapphire buttons and gold plated screws. Limited to 100 phones.

The PRO3 GCB Antique is unlocked and will work with any GSM network operator. The phone is dual SIM quad-band GSM (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) and has dual band 3G coverage WCDMA (on main SIM only). It is equipped with a 2.4” QVGA display, expandable microSD memory, camera and video camera, web browser, bluetooth 3.0, email support, and a music player.
