Extreme Mobility
In the early 20th century, Guido Panerai created some of the earliest luminous watches for use by the Italian navy, using radium bromide and zinc sulphide. Following this military tradition the PRO3 ML series use a multi-layered Super-Luminova coating to create the first luminous mobile phone.
Military History: In Search of Extremes
It would be fair to say that without the incredible vision from Mobiado designer Peter Bonac, luxury mobile phones would not be what they are today. It was within his search for extremes that the Luminoso Stealth model was first created in early 2008. This creation gave rise to some of the brand’s most famous DNA characteristics. Tradition now continues with the fourth collection in Mobiado’s military series, the PRO3 ML.
PRO3 ML Commando: Conquest of the Land
Military camouflage is the use of camo by a military force to protect personnel and equipment from observation by enemy forces. Mobiado has made camouflage, specifically urban camo, the source of inspiration for the PRO3 ML Commando. The frame is CNC machined from 6061 aircraft aluminum, and then finished with MIL-A-8625 Type II splash anodized coating. This special process of anodizing is done by hand with no two parts being alike. Large sapphire crystal plates are hand painted black with Super-Luminova lettering and precision inset into the body with silver painted sapphire buttons. The battery cover is CNC machine engraved with the iconic ML series letters and the sides of the body are carved with military grip notches.
The Electronics: Professional Instruments for Elite Units
The PRO3 ML Commando is unlocked and will work with any GSM network operator. The phone is dual SIM quad-band GSM (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) and has dual band 3G coverage WCDMA (on main SIM only). It is equipped with a 2.4” QVGA display, expandable microSD memory, camera and video camera, web browser, bluetooth 3.0, email support, and a music player.
ML DOGTAG
Mobiado commemorates its very first military mobile instrument, the Luminoso Stealth, with the unique ML Dog Tag. The dog tag is made from 2mm thick solid sapphire inset into a silver anodized aluminum frame. The back of the dog tag displays the date 01-02-2008 for when the Luminoso Stealth was first released.
